In 2002, Soror Jenny Prophete moved from her home country of Haiti to the US. Being from a country that had limited health care resources, this truly laid the foundation for her passion and learning towards the health care field. Despite facing many challenges, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience.

With an interest in community health, Soror Jenny decided to pursue a Masters of Public Health (MPH). Through the MPH program, she has learned various techniques to implement health promotion programs within the community. Most importantly, this program has allowed her to promote positive health and lifestyle choices, along with changes through continuous education and research. Currently, she is a first year Physician Assistant student at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. She is passionate to become an advocate for those who have little to no access to medical resources and provide opportunities to give back to the communities here in the States. In Soror Jenny’s words, “It is my ultimate goal to fulfill my dream of giving the health care resources to my native country of Haiti. My white coat represents the privilege to advocate for others and my ability to make a difference.”
